Exaggerated Emotions Series #1: Grief

This was for the Advanced Drawing class where the assignment is to create 50 drawings with the subject of our choosing. This was due at the end of half of the semester, so I had to think of a subject that I could have fun with while also giving me plenty of ideas. I decided on doing human emotions because I figured it would be fun coming up with wacky expressions and I could play with colors that convey it.
For this one, I used various types of blues since that color typically associates with sadness but I also use greens and yellows for illumination.
